The Asia Responsible Enterprise Awards 2024 is pleased to honor GREENFEED Vietnam Corporation (GREENFEED) for its successful CSR projects. Presented by leading regional NGO Enterprise Asia, the AREA is the most reputable award recognition program recognizing organizational efforts in creating a culture of compassion, integrity and being socially responsible corporate citizens.
The company’s “Tiếp Sức Nhà Nông – Supporting Farmers” and the “Sustainable Resource Management” CSR projects were recognized under the Social Empowerment and Green Leadership categories.
Established in 2010, “Tiếp Sức Nhà Nông – Supporting Farmers” is a coordinated initiative between GREENFEED and five other parties: Tuoi Tre Newspaper, Provincial Farmers’ Association, Provincial People’s Committee, Provincial Youth Union, and local schools. The program aims to improve livelihoods for farmers, especially rural women, through effective livestock farming.
Over its 14-year journey, “Tiếp Sức Nhà Nông – Supporting Farmers” has improved the livelihoods of 2,650 farming households across 24 provinces nationwide and conducted 64 technical training sessions with experts. The program has reached 11,392 individuals and granted 4,479 scholarships. It also distributed 240 health insurance cards to the needy. As part of its environmental efforts, the program planted 137,793 trees, aiming to achieve a goal of one million trees in 2032.
On the other hand, the “Sustainable Resource Management” project covers the conservation of land, water, and air resources; the economic and effective usage of water resources; the replacement of fossil fuels with green energy (solar, biomass) and renewable energy (biogas); the reduction of plastic packaging; and the recovery of resources by converting livestock waste into organic fertilizer for crops.
As a part of its achievements, the company has managed to reduce 1,151 tons of packaging plastic used for animal feed since 2021, converted all of its feed boilers to biomass boilers; transformed 15% of GREENFEED’s overall energy structure to green energy (biomass, biogas, solar), installed solar rooftop systems to seven facilities (a feed factory and six farms), and introduced five biogas energy models at pig farms.
GREENFEED sets an example for its peers in the industry through these successful CSR projects. The company remains steadfast to its principles of altruism and sustainability and will be further integrating these ideals into future initiatives and business operations.
