The Asia Responsible Enterprise Awards (AREA) 2023 is pleased to honor 78 outstanding business leaders and enterprises for championing sustainable and responsible business practices. Presented by leading regional NGO Enterprise Asia, the AREA is the most reputable award recognition program recognizing organizational efforts in creating a culture of compassion, integrity and being socially responsible corporate citizens. The AREA serves as a badge of excellence to spur further innovation and best-practice sharing for your organization and the world at large.
Nu Skin Southeast Asia And Pacific (Nu Skin) was among the recipients who were conferred with the Social Empowerment Award. Nu Skin is a leading beauty and wellness company powered by a dynamic affiliate opportunity platform. The company is committed to sustainability, including global initiatives such as transitioning to reduced and sustainable packaging for all products by 2030.
Based in Singapore, Nu Skin takes care of 9 markets in Southeast Asia and the Pacific and is part of the US-based Nu Skin Enterprises. Nu Skin’s Mission is to be a global force for good by empowering people to improve their lives with innovative products, rewarding opportunities, and enriching culture.
To give back to communities, Nu Skin created the Nu Skin Force For Good Foundation with the Mission to provide opportunities for improved children’s health and wellness around the globe. These initiatives are supported by a network of charity organizers and Nu Skin Sales Leaders working to uplift and empower children through improved health and wellness.
The Nu Skin Southeast Asia Children’s Heart Fund (SEACHF) regional project began in 2003 to fund corrective heart surgeries and provide medical assistance for underprivileged children who do not have adequate medical equipment or expertise to treat their heart conditions.
This initiative aims to reduce the long surgery waiting list. Each local Nu Skin office in the region regularly conducts additional activities to create awareness and reach out to more children and their families. In 2022, a SEACHF mascot, named Ruby, was created to raise more awareness and conversation to sign up as a 1% donor or donate to SEACHF. Ruby was introduced in the form of WhatsApp stickers on World’s Heart Day 2022 and was well-received by all the Sales Leaders and employees of Nu Skin.
The company has ensured regular funding with its 1% Commission Donation Program where Sales Leaders in the region volunteer to automatically deduct 1% of their monthly commissions to support Nu Skin SEACHF. They can also make a one-time donation. With this support, close to 15,000 lives have been saved since the initiative started.
Nu Skin also has a global project called Nourish The Children (NTC) that began in 2002. NTC has a number of charitable partners around the world and its primary global partner is Feed The Children which collaboratively donates VitaMeals which consists of 25 ideal vitamins and minerals formulated by Nu Skin scientists and an expert in children’s malnutrition.
VitaMeal is usually distributed in schools, encouraging children to attend schools regularly, which in turn helps produce educated and empowered children. This leads to more employment opportunities in the future, and will hopefully lift their families out of poverty. Through Nu Skin’s charitable partners, VitaMeal has distributed 800 million meals to malnourished children in over 65 countries since 2002. Nu Skin aims to provide opportunities to children through improved health and wellness, giving them a second chance and a brighter future to pursue their dreams and transform them into hopeful and empowered individuals. Every effort counts, and Nu Skin aims to contribute to and uplift communities in every way possible.
