Farglory Life Insurance Co.,Ltd. (Fglife) was among the recipients who were conferred with the Social Empowerment and Corporate Sustainability Reporting Awards. Adhering to its management philosophy of “Empower Your Life”, Fglife strives to create a healthy, high-quality life for the people in Taiwan with its comprehensive protection services.
For its Social Empowerment Award, With the “Owl Conservation Programme: [One For The All] Environmental And Ecological Restoration” project, Fglife aims to implement the United Nations’ SDGs and focus on sustainable development rights for local communities and future generations. The project also intends to promote biodiversity and effectively protect the natural capital provided by ecosystems while also engaging with stakeholders, integrating resources from many areas, and fostering diverse partnerships.
Fglife has managed to create 6 non-toxic ecological fields in the Gaoshu Township in Pingtung County, and Dongshan District in Tainan City. This includes the installation of 10 raptor perches, ecological monitoring equipment, and the placement of 62 nest boxes. These actions are done alongside promoting improvements in pesticide use over an area exceeding 6.74 hectares.
The company has also managed to organize hands-on demonstrations of how perches work, to encourage farmers to embrace natural ecological farming methods and participate in eco-friendly cultivation. Under this project, Fglife purchased 1,000 Owl-branded Pineapple Cake Gift Boxes to support educational funds for children at NPO and bought 800kg of Owl-branded rice to be donated to vulnerable families through cooperation with a food bank. The company also works to foster a shared understanding among employees regarding environmental sustainability and cultivate service-oriented empathy through volunteer service.
For its Corporate Sustainability Reporting Award, the company delivers its core values by offering insurance that provides comprehensive protection that evolves with the times. Fglife’s corporate governance is centered around integrity and sustainable management, emphasizing risk management and compliance with regulations to enhance responsible investment value.
In terms of social co-prosperity, Fglife focuses on fair treatment of customers, digital innovation, employee care, and giving back to society, striving to enhance customer satisfaction and social impact. In 2022, Fglife prepared its sustainability report in accordance with the 2021 GRI Standards, which were released by the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI). The report also references the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) and Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB) for relevant disclosures on climate-related financial information. The report also underwent verification by the British Standards Institution (BSI), an independent third-party organization, to ensure the credibility of its content.
