Gentari Sdn Bhd (Gentari), a leading provider of clean energy solutions subsidiary of Petronas, has announced the appointment of Navjit Gill as the new country head for India, effective from 10 July 2023.
Navjit Gill brings with him an impressive 34 years of experience in the energy and marine sectors. He previously held the positions of CEO at First Energy Pvt Ltd and Chief Commercial Officer at SB Energy.
Throughout his career, Navjit has held key positions at renowned companies like GE Renewables India Pvt Ltd, Rolls-Royce Marine India Pvt Ltd, and KSK Energy Ventures, which have further enriched his expertise and accomplishments in the energy industry.
He began his journey at Wartsila, where he spent nearly 17 years in various roles.
Sushil Purohit, CEO of Gentari, expressed his confidence in Navjit’s appointment, highlighting his extensive experience in the Indian energy sector, making him a valuable addition to the Gentari India team.
With India’s growing emphasis on achieving net zero goals, there are vast opportunities for global private players to contribute, and Navjit’s expertise will play a vital role in developing Gentari’s three core pillars: renewable energy, Hydrogen, and green mobility.
As India rapidly ascends to become the world’s fourth-largest economy and third-largest energy consumer, Navjit’s leadership will enable the company to capitalise on this growth and make a significant impact.
As the country head of Gentari India, Navjit will spearhead the team’s efforts to strengthen its presence in the commercial & industrial sectors by 2025 and expand into utility-scale renewables.
Additionally, he will lead initiatives to advance the company’s green hydrogen ambitions and enhance its green mobility footprint. Gentari India is also targeting opportunities to offer integrated clean energy solutions.
These initiatives align with Gentari’s global aspirations for 2030, which include building a renewable energy capacity of over 30GW, supplying more than 0.7mtpa of clean hydrogen, and becoming the preferred green mobility solutions provider in the Asia Pacific region, capturing over 10% market share of charging points and vehicle-as-a-service sectors in key markets.
