HD Renewable Energy Co., Ltd. Claims 2 Trophies at the Asia Responsible Enterprise Awards 2024

HD Renewable Energy Co., Ltd intends to lead by example through its CSR projects that were developed to ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable, and modern energy for all and to support the government’s goal of fostering a symbiotic relationship between fishery and electricity generation. The company has also claimed the Green Leadership and Corporate Sustainability Reporting categories at the Asia Responsible Enterprise Awards 2024, organized by leading regional NGO, Enterprise Asia.

HD Renewable Energy Co., Ltd (HDRE) utilizes its extensive expertise in photovoltaics. It collaborates with its self-organized “Taiwan Fishery Team” to develop the fishery-electricity symbiotic project in Qigu, Tainan. These activities were done under the “Co-Prosperity Of Fishery And Electricity Symbiosis Plant And Migrant Birds” project.

HDRE integrates environmentally friendly designs into its projects, balancing renewable energy and aquaculture needs while preserving biodiversity through a six-hectare ecological protection zone for migratory birds and rare mangrove plants. HDRE also emphasizes local engagement by hiring fishermen, addressing challenges like climate change and labor shortages, and fostering a symbiotic relationship between aquaculture and electricity generation. By adopting the TITAN intelligent power system, HDRE, and local communities work together to enhance renewable energy use in Taiwan and create a new business model that integrates aquaculture, marketing, and electricity generation.

As of 2022, HDRE’s power generation project is set to provide 42MW of green electricity, with fish catch expected to surpass 100,000 catties and revenues exceeding NTD 25 million by 2023. The company has also established a six-hectare ecological protection zone to support migratory birds and rare mangrove plants, leading to a notable increase in the population of black-faced spoonbills, as reported by the “2022 Global Census.” The presence of these birds in Taiwan, particularly in Tainan, highlights that the photovoltaic projects have not negatively impacted the migratory bird ecosystem.

In claiming the award for the Corporate Sustainability Reporting category, HDRE’s “2022 Sustainability Report~ Pioneer of Clean Energy, Forging a New World of Green Energy” initiative, the company focused on advancing green energy solutions through a comprehensive approach that includes power generation, electricity sales, and energy storage. HDRE is committed to making green electricity more accessible and practical through intelligent management systems that align green power supply with demand.

HDRE’s strategic expansion includes solar and wind power generation, fishery-electricity symbiosis, energy storage, and electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure. The company aims to become a leading “Smart Green Power Company” by offering customized services that promote green energy utilization and facilitate energy transformation. HDRE’s business units—Electricity Development, Asset Management, and Smart Power Service—are designed to enhance green energy integration and support sustainable practices.

As HDRE prepares for a public listing, it remains focused on improving corporate governance and risk management while promoting sustainable development. The company is dedicated to enhancing its environmental and social impact through transparent operations, effective stakeholder communication, and continuous improvement, reinforcing its commitment to creating a sustainable future.
