The New Taipei Employment Services Office will host a job fair next Tuesday (February 11) to address a transition in post-Lunar New Year jobs, offering more than 2,500 job vacancies.
The period following the Lunar New Year is known as a peak time for employee resignations. Job banks experience their busiest period of the year, with an influx of job seekers filling out resumes and companies ramping up their recruitment efforts to fill vacant positions, according to Managertoday.
According to the Labor Bureau, 53 companies will participate in the fair. Several positions provide monthly wages of NT$50,000 (US$1,521) or more, per CNA.
Participating companies include Din Tai Fung, Nextron, Ikea, Zoeller Taiwan, Stapro and Colatour Travel. The hospitality and food service sector is showing the highest demand for talent, followed by the technology and manufacturing industries.
Job openings in February generally see a 25% increase compared to other months, as companies scramble to fill vacancies after the holiday period. For many companies, year-end bonuses typically range from half a month’s salary to two months’ salary, which is a significant factor influencing employees’ decisions to leave or stay.
Notable roles at the fair include openings for chefs, culinary directors, and management trainees at Din Tai Fung, with JT Food Service and Le Ble D’or offering monthly salaries exceeding NT$50,000. Meanwhile, hardware development engineers can expect to earn NT$70,000 per month.
The highest-paying position at the fair is a pharmacist role at a major pharmacy chain, with a salary of up to NT$75,000 per month. – Taiwan News
