Imperva recently opened a larger office space in Singapore, the tenth Imperva office, and the new regional headquarters for the Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ) region. The company also opened its first Customer Experience Centre as part of this new space.
Consisting of a Network and Security Operations Centre (NOC, SOC), this will be a place where customers can meet with their experts, see their threat intelligence data in real-time, and have the opportunity to use Imperva products hands-on.
The new, state-of-the-art workspace joins their roster of regional offices across Australia, China, India, Japan, and Taiwan. Since 2009, Imperva has proudly maintained offices in various countries across the APJ region. Imperva is one of the top cybersecurity leaders that helps organizations protect critical applications, APIs, and data, anywhere, at scale, and with the highest ROI.
According to an Imperva Threat Research report, attacks targeting Singapore businesses more than doubled in the second half of 2022 as compared to the same time period in 2021. It has become crucial to protect against cyberattacks, which are increasing in volume and sophistication.
Financial institutions, for example, are now increasingly facing threats related to multi-cloud and open APIs, says George Lee, Imperva senior vice president for Asia Pacific and Japan.
The NOC monitors Imperva’s globally-distributed network and IT infrastructure to ensure consistent services with better uptime for customers. If issues arise, they can be detected and resolved quickly to minimise downtime.
As for the SOC, it is responsible for monitoring systems for security threats and vulnerabilities. With a SOC based in the Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ) region, Imperva can maintain and bolster the integrity and availability of its security services.
This NOC/SOC in Singapore joins Imperva’s global network of NOC/SOCs that provide 24/7 protection and support to its customers around the world through its follow-the-sun model. To help close the skills gap, Imperva will also harness its new facility to support the industry’s efforts to develop a pipeline of cybersecurity professionals for the region.
Imperva is also strengthening its local data centre infrastructure in the region. There are currently 15 PoPs (Points of Presence) across APJ, with more planned for this year. Through these investments, Imperva continues to provide the right level of protection, performance, and availability to its regional customers.
Lee also added that the opening of the trio of facilities highlights the company’s long-term interest and commitment to Singapore and to APJ. He said that their thousands of customers here deserve world-class standards of support, and Imperva will continue to invest to provide them with the highest levels of protection, performance, and availability.
Developing Future Cybersecurity Talent in APJ
The opening of the new Singapore office is a great opportunity for Imperva to connect and support its customers and partners in the region. At the same time, it also gives them the ability to identify and nurture current and future talent.
For the company believe this is essential for addressing the cyber skills gap globally that continues to grow and limit their collective ability to combat cybercrime.
This includes its ongoing internship programme with the National University of Singapore. Students will gain valuable hands-on experience by providing technical support to customers while being mentored by security engineers in the company.
At the end of the programme, students will have a deeper understanding of application and data security, as well as exposure and experience with the latest technologies in cybersecurity in a state-of-the-art environment.
