A new report by AC Ventures and the Electric Mobility Ecosystem Association (AEML) reveals that Indonesia’s electric vehicle (EV) market is poised for explosive growth. The report, titled “Indonesia’s Electric Vehicle Outlook: Supercharging Tomorrow’s Mobility,” projects that the country’s EV market could reach US$20 billion by 2030.
The report cites a number of factors that are driving the growth of the EV market in Indonesia, including:
- Government support: The Indonesian government has set ambitious renewable energy goals, which includes a target of 23% renewable energy by 2025. This is expected to boost demand for EVs, which are seen as a more environmentally friendly option than traditional gasoline-powered vehicles.
- Increasing consumer demand: Indonesian consumers are becoming more aware of the environmental benefits of EVs and are starting to demand them in greater numbers.
- Advances in technology: EV technology is becoming more affordable and efficient, making it a more attractive option for consumers.
- Growing infrastructure: The Indonesian government is investing in EV infrastructure, such as charging stations, to make it easier for consumers to adopt EVs.
The report also found that the EV market in Indonesia is still in its early stages, but it has the potential to grow rapidly in the coming years. The report recommends that the government and private sector continue to invest in the EV market to help it reach its full potential.
