Krungthai-AXA Life Insurance (KTAXA) has been recognized for its commitment to promoting health and wellness among stakeholders and its dedication to promoting biodiversity and protecting marine life. The company’s focus on the UN Sustainable Development Goals has led to its recent accolades at the Asia Responsible Enterprise Awards 2024, presented by esteemed regional NGO, Enterprise Asia. KTAXA was honored in the categories of Health Promotion and Green Leadership for its outstanding efforts.
The award-winning “Caravan Health Check 2023” project, part of KTAXA’s Health Promotion initiatives, provides free mobile health check clinics across Thailand. Since its launch in 2007, the weekly clinics have offered healthcare services and financial reviews to over 500,000 individuals nationwide. In 2023 alone, the project organized 34 events, served over 20,000 customers, generating significant value for both the community and business.
Under the Green Leadership category, KTAXA’s “Save Our Sea 2023” project, in collaboration with Phuket Marine Biological Centre (PMBC) and Laguna Foundation, focused on marine conservation and plastic waste reduction. The initiative, which was centered around the 4 Rs’ – Rescue, Remove, Restore, and Resource – included the development of nursery ponds for the safe release of baby sea turtles, over 1,000 mangrove trees planted, and beach clean-up activities in Phuket, with plans to expand efforts to protect coastal ecosystems. Furthermore, PMBC is one of five foundations globally that nurse the ‘Leatherback turtle.’
The success of “Save Our Sea” is evident in the 200 kilograms of waste collected, the absorption of over 27,000 kg of CO2 per year from the mangrove trees, the participation of 300 volunteers in beach clean-ups, and the ongoing support for sea turtle habitats. By championing initiatives that benefit both society and the environment, KTAXA exemplifies a balanced approach to corporate citizenship, reinforcing its commitment to sustainability and mitigating climate change.
