It is Siam Piwat’s pride and joy to enable this with its “Siam Piwat Supports Thai Craftsmanship” as an award-winner of the Social Empowerment category, presented by the Asia Responsible Enterprise Awards 2024, organized by leading regional NGO, Enterprise Asia.
Siam Piwat aims to take Thai brands and craftsmanship to the global stage and build up its reputation overseas. Siam Piwat has developed itself as an opportunity platform to support retail businesses for Thai entrepreneurs (SMEs, local Thai craftsmanship businesses, eco-creators, designers, disabled artists, and young artists), fostering collaboration and mutual advantages.
Siam Piwat has established many retail businesses for local Thai entrepreneurs, which are ICONCRAFT, SookSiam, Ecotopia, Absolute Siam Store, and ODS Objects of Desire. Talented people will get an opportunity to showcase their products on these various platforms by utilizing their talents and expertise.
ICONCRAFT is a store that presents Thai culture from a new perspective through Thai crafts products; SookSiam gathers Thai pearls of wisdom on one platform which includes arts, culture, tradition, food, and way of life from 77 provinces across the country; the Ecotopia store is designated for eco-creators who create eco-products to make a sustainable lifestyle; the Absolute Siam Store is meant for showcasing distinctive and exclusive collections of original Thai pop culture from well-known upcoming young designers; and the ODS. store was made for talents who offer unique home decoration design.
The strongest impact of this sustainability project happened to local entrepreneurs within the SookSiam platform. Specifically, Lung Ngen Claypot Coffee (the tradition of claypot coffee brewing) which had the opportunity to expand its business and open its outlets at Sunway Velocity Mall and Utama Shopping Centre in Malaysia.
As part of a drive to create shared value to achieve sustainable growth for all parties, Siam Piwat’s future plan is to expand target groups (talented entrepreneurs) by offering opportunities to cover more talented people; for now, the company has approximately 14,000 talented people (SookSiam: 12,000 people, ICONCRAFT: 600 people, Ecotopia: 300 people, Absolute Siam Store: 500 people, , and O.D.S.: 150 people). Siam Piwat has set its goal to achieve 20,000+ talented people by the end of 2024.
The “Siam Piwat Supports Thai Craftsmanship” project has found great success. Siam Piwat is dedicated to empowering local Thai entrepreneurs and has impressed these principles of altruism and compassion in its employees. These actions are intended to have long-term sustainability in the community by elevating the people with more equitable opportunities for future prosperity.
