CelcomDigi Berhad (CelcomDigi) and DHL Supply Chain Malaysia have unveiled Malaysia’s pioneering 5G-powered Artificial Intelligence (AI) Autonomous Inventory Management System. Utilizing CelcomDigi’s robust 4G LTE network and 5G connectivity, DHL’s Integrated Logistics Centre in Shah Alam is now equipped with state-of-the-art AI and robotic solutions for efficient inventory management.
Operated through CelcomDigi’s Innovation Centre, this collaboration harnesses 5G technology and AI solutions to facilitate a robotic inventory management system, optimizing multi-story warehouse operations. Leveraging autonomous drones, DHL conducts daily inventory management and operational tasks with automated stock-taking solutions and computer vision technologies, ensuring precision and accuracy without human error.
This innovative approach enhances stock counting efficiency by up to 20 times, achieving 100% accuracy while optimizing warehouse space and reducing daily electricity consumption.
This groundbreaking initiative establishes synergies between industries, enhancing logistic operations within an AI-driven digital ecosystem. CelcomDigi and DHL plan to expand the implementation of 5G-powered AI autonomous drones and robotic inventory management systems to all DHL warehouses nationwide.
The inauguration of Malaysia’s first 5G-powered AI Autonomous Inventory Management System was officiated by the Minister of Communications and Digital, Fahmi Fadzil.
