It is PT Pupuk Sriwidjaja Palembang’s pride and joy to enable this with its “Healthy and Prosperous Kemaro Island” which was also a winner of the Social Empowerment category, presented by the Asia Responsible Enterprise Awards 2024, organized by leading regional NGO, Enterprise Asia.
The “Healthy and Prosperous Kemaro Island” (SESERA) program by PT Pupuk Sriwidjaja Palembang (Pusri) is a comprehensive CSR initiative focused on enhancing the well-being and self-sufficiency of the Kemaro Island community.
By disseminating knowledge through employee-led training sessions, Pusri ensures that the SESERA program not only addresses immediate community needs but also fosters long-term resilience and self-reliance.
According to data, the SASERA program has seen an average increase of IDR 500,000 per month in people’s incomes. Moreover, the program has fostered a cleaner and more hygienic environment on the island, promoting better public health through access to clean water for daily activities. Through SESERA, Pusri has implemented initiatives that not only tackle socio-economic challenges but also improve environmental conditions. By providing training and resources for sustainable livelihoods, the program empowers local residents to engage in productive activities and entrepreneurship. Furthermore, the program’s emphasis on environmental sustainability includes waste management and conservation efforts, contributing to a healthier ecosystem.
