Taiwan Depository & Clearing Corporation has been recognized as a winner of the Green Leadership category at the Asia Responsible Enterprise Awards 2024. Since its launch on June 30, 2023, Taiwan Depository & Clearing Corporation (TDCC)’s “TDCC eNotice Platform” has primarily achieved the following objectives.
The project has allowed TWSE-listed, TPEx-listed, emerging companies, and ETF issuers (referred to as issuing companies) to electronically send dividend and ETF income distribution notifications through the eNotice platform. It has also enabled investors to express their consent to receive electronic notifications for dividend payments and ETF distribution through the eNotice platform.
Besides that, the platform allows investors to receive dividend and ETF income distribution notifications electronically and to query notification history records through the eNotice platform, effectively consolidating investment-related information for investors. Finally, the platform effectively saves the issuing company’s costs of sending paper notifications, safeguards investors’ asset privacy, and implements a policy of Net Zero carbon emissions.
By the end of 2023, the total number of notifications for stock/cash dividends and ETF income distributions from issuing companies amounted to over TWD 90 million. If all were delivered electronically, it is estimated to reduce carbon emissions by 684 tons annually, equivalent to the carbon absorption of 57,000 trees or the effect of 9.5 Da’an Forest Parks. The saved paper, when connected, could encircle Taiwan 23.22 times and stacked, would be as tall as 18.4 Taipei 101 towers.
In the future, the “eNotice Platform” will diversify its service offerings, incorporating more electronic notification projects in alignment with regulatory policies.
