Transformative “Build Road Safety Ecosystem, HFC Promotes The Motorcycle Safety Project.” Pioneered by Hotai Finance Corporation

Common social empowerment initiatives foster equal opportunities, offering access to education, healthcare, employment, and participation in decision-making processes. Hotai Finance Corporation in particular has decided to contribute to society by advocating for road user safety. The “Build Road Safety Ecosystem, HFC Promotes The Motorcycle Safety Project.” proves its influence with a Social Empowerment trophy, won at the Asia Responsible Enterprise Awards 2024, organized by leading regional NGO, Enterprise Asia.

Hotai Finance Corporation (HFC) has been deeply involved in the motorcycle finance business for years, offering customers affordable installment projects to facilitate easy purchases, and ensuring convenient mobility experiences. HFC considers advocating for road user safety as part of its corporate mission.

Since 2020, HFC has been collaborating with supply chain partners to promote road safety initiatives on campus. In 2023, it expanded its efforts through public-private partnerships with the Highway Bureau, MOTC, establishing a “Road Safety Ecosystem”. HFC actively communicates the importance of road safety with the public, enhancing awareness and reducing motorcycle rider casualties and accidents.

HFC promotes diverse initiatives such as driving course subsidies, no-violation challenges, safety picture books, and etc., actively communicating with young students. Moreover, HFC launched the “Motorcycle Road Safety Video Competition” in 2023, encouraging young students to become road safety ambassadors. Through creative video production, this initiative aims to raise public awareness and understanding of road safety.

As a part of the results of this campaign, a total of NTD 2.3 million has been invested in subsidies for motorcycle driving courses. The coverage includes 100% of all counties and cities on Taiwan’s main island, and in 2023, it was extended to the outlying island areas of Kinmen.

Furthermore, the first video competition attracted participation from 15 schools and over 100 campus road safety ambassadors which resulted in the creation of 38 creative videos. The accumulated view counts of road safety advocacy videos have surpassed 260,000. There were also over 190 people participating in the no-violation challenge.

HFC deeply understands that establishing motorcycle safety knowledge and skills is not easy. It requires continuous effort and the collaborative support of various stakeholders, including the government, schools, NPO partners, and the public. HFC actively partners with these stakeholders to build a road safety ecosystem. Through diverse initiatives, the company promotes defensive and responsible driving concepts among motorcycle riders, thereby reducing the occurrence of accidents and casualties.
