Tencent Cloud, the cloud computing arm of global technology giant Tencent, has announced a strategic partnership with Singapore-based Trident Digital Tech Holdings Ltd (Trident), a key player in digital transformation, technology optimisation, and Web 3.0 activation. As part of this collaboration, Trident will migrate its entire suite of digital services onto Tencent Cloud’s cutting-edge infrastructure, while also incorporating advanced metaverse solutions.
This alliance marks a significant milestone in digital innovation, positioning Trident as Tencent Cloud’s first Metaverse-in-a-Box customer in Singapore.
At the heart of Trident’s innovation is Tridentity, its flagship blockchain-based identity solution. Designed to provide secure, single sign-on authentication, Tridentity integrates seamlessly with third-party systems across multiple industries.
By leveraging blockchain technology, it offers robust security features to protect sensitive information and mitigate digital threats, ushering in a new era of secure and decentralised identity management.
To power its ambitious expansion, Trident will fully operate on Tencent Cloud’s infrastructure, utilising an array of cutting-edge solutions, including Cloud Virtual Machine (CVM), TencentDB, EdgeOne, Cloud Workload Protection Platform (CWPP), Cloud Load Balancer (CLB), Elastic IP (EIP), Tencent Kubernetes Engine (TKE), and Elasticsearch Service (ES).
With a target of reaching millions of monthly active users by 2025, Trident is strategically positioning itself to capitalise on the surging demand for digital services across Southeast Asia and Africa. By leveraging Tencent Cloud’s industry-leading capabilities, Trident is set to drive scalable and secure growth across these rapidly expanding markets.
As Trident prioritises the development of its application platform, it requires a highly scalable, managed, and secure cloud environment. By leveraging Tencent Cloud Blockchain as a Service (TBaaS), Trident ensures a seamless deployment of its blockchain-powered identity solution in the cloud. This enables swift business expansion while safeguarding operations with a comprehensive security suite.
Furthermore, Tencent Cloud’s Metaverse-in-a-Box, a one-stop, integrated metaverse solution, will play a crucial role in delivering an immersive and seamless user experience across Southeast Asia.
High-performance technologies such as EdgeOne, a powerful cloud security and acceleration platform, will help Trident optimise service delivery, protect APIs from malicious bot threats, and enhance digital experiences for users across the region.
By capitalising on Tencent Cloud’s advanced technology, Trident has successfully developed large-scale, immersive, real-time interactive experiences. A prime example of this was its pivotal role in Singapore’s National Day Parade (NDP) 2024, where Trident—serving as the Principal Partner—created a metaverse version of the NDP.
This ambitious project featured virtual games and digital recreations of Singapore’s iconic landmarks, offering thousands of users a fully immersive experience.
With Tencent Cloud’s support, Trident was able to scale its cloud infrastructure in just three days, ensuring a seamless and engaging metaverse experience on the day of the event. This achievement highlights the agility and reliability of Tencent Cloud’s solutions in enabling large-scale virtual environments.
Ken Siow, General Manager for Singapore & Malaysia at Tencent Cloud International, commented on the partnership, stating: ““We are delighted to be chosen as Trident’s strategic partner in accelerating Singapore’s digital transformation.
“Through our Metaverse-in-a-Box solution and high-performance products like EdgeOne, we look forward to enhancing the user experience on Trident’s platform and enabling seamless interactions via the Tridentity app.”
Meanwhile, Soon Huat Lim, Founder, Chairman, and CEO of Trident, emphasised the transformative impact of the collaboration: ““I am thrilled to announce this landmark partnership between Trident and Tencent Cloud, which is set to revolutionise digital identity and access within the Triverse—our immersive, interactive metaverse ecosystem.
“Powered by Web3 technology, our blockchain-based Tridentity app empowers users with a secure, self-sovereign digital identity, enabling seamless single sign-on experiences and unmatched control over their digital presence as they explore, interact, and thrive in our ecosystem.”
This partnership signifies a significant leap forward in cloud computing, blockchain-based identity security, and metaverse innovation. By harnessing Tencent Cloud’s advanced infrastructure, Trident is well-positioned to drive the next generation of digital experiences, reinforcing Singapore’s position as a global leader in digital transformation.
As Trident expands its footprint across Southeast Asia and Africa, this collaboration is set to redefine the digital landscape—offering businesses and consumers unparalleled security, seamless integration, and immersive digital interactions in an ever-evolving digital era.
