The Asia Responsible Enterprise Awards (AREA) 2024 is pleased to honor VieON Corporation with an award for their efforts under the Social Empowerment category with the “Accompanying Nam Phuong Foundation” project. Presented by leading regional NGO Enterprise Asia, the AREA serves as a badge of excellence to spur further innovation and best-practice sharing for responsible organizations and the world at large.
The Nam Phuong Foundation is the first-ever philanthropic fund established by students. The foundation gained its license on 19 September 2013 by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Vietnam (license number 1048/QD-BNV). Its mission is to replace old bridges with new, sturdy ones and to ensure safe travel for local residents. The project was implemented in impoverished regions near lakes and rivers such as Tien Giang, Hau Giang, Kien Giang, Ca Mau, Can Tho, Ben Tre, and many more.
As a leading OTT platform, VieON has served as the media sponsor, and co-produced and broadcasted four seasons of the “Building Bridges” program. Additionally, VieON manages the foundation’s communication activities, connects over 400 artists, and mobilizes staff resources to visit and support local communities in implemented areas nationwide.
This project has brought great outcomes. There have been 37 bridges built in 11 provinces with a value of VND 36.7 billion, providing nearly 50 million safe routes (as of April 2024). It has also caught the interest of 400 artists accompanying VieON and the Nam Phuong Foundation such as Tran Thanh, Hari Won, Dai Nghia, Ngo Kien Huy, Thuy Ngan, Kha Nhu, Lam Vy Da, Le Duong Bao Lam, and more; thus, VND 240 million managed to be raised in donations through the Rap Viet All-Star Concert 2023 and The Masked Singer All-Star Concert 2023. Besides that, the reality show “Building Bridges” has produced 9 seasons, garnering 500,000 views on VieON. The company is also proud to be receiving letters of appreciation from the People’s Committees of provinces such as Tien Giang, Ca Mau, Vinh Long, and others.
To make a significant impact, significant changes must be made. Through this program, VieON has shown dedicated efforts to enable underserved communities and improve their quality of life. These changes have paved the way to building trust and confidence among investors, maintaining long-term sustainability, and fostering responsible business practices.
